Discovery

Hanterill finds the car through the cable, opens a diagnostic connection and checks which control units answer. It remembers units that are not fitted to that car, so later scans do not wait for them unnecessarily.

Fault codes

The fault list opens on codes that need attention. You can also see older codes, any conditions the car saved with a fault and changes between two scans.

Clearing

Clearing requires confirmation. Hanterill can save fault details first, show progress by control unit and scan again afterward to see which codes remain.

DID scanner

The data explorer can read a selected set of values across responding control units. Saved captures can be opened later without reconnecting to the car.

Inventory and firmware

The inventory lists the hardware and software versions reported by each responding control unit. Compare two saved inventories to see what changed after service or an update. The app also flags mileage readings that disagree.

Evidence

Save a session before a repair and another afterward. The comparison shows which codes cleared, which remain and whether their status changed. Sessions stay on your computer and can be exported as JSON or CSV. Sessions and evidence explains the views.
