What the labels mean
- Supported
- Verified runtime implementation. Battery, DTC, ECU identification and live data are exercised regularly.
- Partial
- Some functions are implemented and verified. Others are not yet covered on this vehicle.
- Testing
- The code is there, but it has not been checked against a known-good reference yet.
- WIP
- Under active development. It connects, but the decoding is incomplete and changes from release to release.
- Research
- Architecture is being investigated. Not usable for diagnostics.
- Planned
- On the roadmap. No implementation yet.

Compatibility questions
- Does Hanterill work with any Volvo or Polestar?
- No. Hanterill is CMA-first. Polestar 2 and the CMA Volvos (XC40/EX40, C40/EC40) are the tested platforms. SPA plug-in hybrids and newer SEA and SPA2 cars connect over DoIP, but their decoding is still being worked out and is marked WIP or Research.
- What is the difference between platform compatibility and support?
- Platform compatibility means Hanterill can reach the vehicle over DoIP. Support means the diagnostic functions are implemented and verified against known-good references. Being reachable does not make the data trustworthy, which is why WIP and Research platforms are labelled separately.
- My car is listed as WIP or Research. Can I use it?
- You can connect and, on some, read identification data. Do not rely on battery figures or fault interpretation, and do not run service routines. WIP and Research mean the decoding is not verified.
- Is this endorsed by Volvo or Polestar?
- No. Hanterill is an independent project, not affiliated with, maintained by or authorised by Volvo Cars, Polestar or Geely. Manufacturer names are used only to describe compatibility.
